Estate Planning Aspects of Divorce

with Jeremiah W. Doyle IV

BNY Mellon

Jere Doyle will present a comprehensive look at reviewing estate plans upon divorce including the sale of a personal residence, income and gift tax issues of property settlements, dividing life income charitable gift plans, liability for joint income tax returns, and how assets held in an irrevocable trust for the benefit of one of the spouses is effected by the divorce.  In addition, he will cover the tax consequences of dividing stock options, deferred compensation, retirement benefits and updating beneficiaries – including charitable – after divorce.

Many of your donors and clients may have these issues so being familiar with the background ramifications will be valuable.

BNY Mellon Senior Vice President Jere Doyle is an experienced estate planning strategist providing integrated wealth management advice on how to hold, manage, and transfer wealth in a tax efficient manner.  He is a graduate of Providence College, and the Boston University and Hamline University law schools.
