Session One
8:00 - 9:00 a.m.: Investing With Impact – Trends for Both Donors and Recipients
Presented by Cliff White, Institutional Consulting Director of Graystone Consulting, Boston, MA
Investing With Impact, a trend that shows no sign of slowing, is now the umbrella under which three separate focus areas have found common ground – and a growing influence in philanthropy.
Socially Responsible Investing (SRI), Sustainable Investing, and Environmental/Social/Governance (ESG) Investing will continue to have their separate focuses and approaches. Collectively, they are slowly but steadily changing how investing programs in the NFP world are managed.
Our approach is not to pass judgment, but to inform. Our observations come from the vantage point of advising over 1800 families and over 320 NFPs nationally.
For recipients, being prepared and fluent to address this trend puts them at a competitive advantage. We’ll share observations of how many NFPs have done so successfully without upending their investment programs. For donors, recognizing how recipients are evolving their thinking allows them to tailor their preferences as never before.
Session Two
9:15-10:15 a.m.: How to Successfully Secure Planned Gifts
Presented by Bob Barr, Director of Gift Planning at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH
Step away from the planned giving jargon and discover that securing planned gifts may be easier than you might think. This presentation is NOT about planned giving mailings, email blasts, web sites or just-the-right leave behind printed piece. It IS about how to narrow your prospect pool so that you can focus on those who are most likely to make planned gifts to your institution. It is also about what you say when you are in front of these prospects, and how to bring them to closure.
